Tres Chords   COLORPOINT CARPET COLLECTION   

Tres Chords was inspired by the Universal Influence of Music and Experiential Exploration through :

LYRICS  .  DANCE  .  AUTHENTICITY  .  EMOTION  .  ART  .  CULTURE  .  INFUSION

Tres Chords, or Triads, date to the 16th Century and are a group of three notes that have the most common harmonies found in Western music.  Composers consciously arrange chords to draw a  specific reaction from listeners.  This "harmonious analysis" is where the logical and emotional sides of music come together creating endless experiences. 
 
The artistic inspiration for creating this carpet collection was drawn from my personal passion and interpretation of music.  The patterns were developed through the physical creation of art and translated into Photoshop and Texcelle
for the final pattern designs. The first two categories explored and shown below are Lyrics and Authenticity.

No 1.  Influence of LYRICS  - Song "Blackbird"
Influenced by the story of the song Blackbird from the Beatles.  Many global cultures believe it is a sign when a group of blackbirds appear that transformation is occurring with the ability to reach the highest potential. The song Blackbird is about transformation in history and the fight to gain equal rights for all.  
 
The acrylic painting on canvas shown below is my artistic interpretation of the Blackbird and transformation of growth.  The painting is used as the backdrop for the Lyrics patterns.  An image of the painting was used in
Photoshop with the final stages of design in Texcelle for the creation of the "Lyrics" Colorpoint carpet patterns.

No. 2 - Influence of AUTHENTICITY
Influenced by the rawness and grit from the authentic sound of music and musical instruments.   Imagery of old back porches, faded studios, worn string instruments and the genuine and soulful harmonious experience that comes from within is the inspiration and creative outlet for the Authenticity patterns.

A compilation board of wood veneer slats and raw strings was created as an artistic interpretation and salute to musicians around the world playing soulful instruments among friends, families and admirers.  The final "Authenticity" board was photographed and placed into Photoshop and Texcelle for the final pattern designs.
